Apple is expensive.

Apple tells you what you may run.

Not that Android is anything good.

I use an Android tablet to practice with Avare, an aviation app, to read Kindle 
books, as a clock, and such.  It's an appliance.  Never a reasonable computer.

Paid $75 for it new from Walmart.  Seen any $75 (new) iPads?
