Bernie Volz was the chief architect of TCPware and co-founder of Process
Software. He wanted a stack that ran as efficiently as possible on
VAXen, and the kernel was written from scratch in MACRO-32. The TCPware
kernel was faster than MultiNet's kernel when we received it from TGV.
We've made numerous speed enhancements to the MultiNet kernel since
then, and I don't know if anyone has really done speed tests in quite a
few years.
