I should have read all of these messages and composed a single, 
comprehensive reply, but I didn't. In addition to what I wrote in the 
other posts:

MultiNet was written for VMS, but its command-line interfaces were based 
on TOPS-20.

The MultiNet kernel was based on Berkeley UNIX code that was ported to 
VMS by SRI.

TCPware's kernel was written from scratch in MACRO-32.
