Per the US National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine:
"There is no realistic mechanism to fully secure vote casting and
tabulation computer systems from cyber threats."

Put differently, that video is not news. Folks at the DEF CON Voting
Village did the same thing a while back. That too was widely reported.
Also found other issues with improperly-erased machines.

Any electronic system can potentially be compromised. Some are easier
to compromise than others, but all can be. Physical hardware access
being one means, hackery another, and compromise or corruption of
vendors' staff or voting-administrative staff, too.

Hence the need for and the expectation for audits, both of the election
systems and of the election results. Some of these are direct audits,
while others are statistical audits.

Swapping some other voting machine platform for seL4 or OpenVMS or some
other computing platform will not shift the need for and the
expectations for these audits, either.

Now would it be useful to upgrade election security and auditing and
related funding? Sure. seL4 <https://sel4.systems> is one of the
platforms that targets secure embedded processing. Mentioned that
alternative last time you were tweeting on this topic, too.

And switching platforms will be expensive and necessarily incremental.
The US Congress has previously discussed and rejected various election
security efforts, too. From 2019:

The incoming Biden-Harris administration and the new Congress have work
here with election and related national security, as well as work with
the pandemic, around the reported insurrectionists and seditionists,
with racism, education, and all that with the climate trends and with
2020 ~tied for the hottest year on record.

Lots of work ahead.

For some folks that have apologized for posting lies about Dominion
voting systems, and I suspect we'll see others:

For those inexperienced with or interested in the processes and
procedures and issues involved with elections and election assurance,
