you can also enable tracing in LANCP:

LANCP> SET ACP/ECHO/FULL

will write trace messages to SYS$MANAGER:LAN$TRACE.LOG, e.g.

To read the trace file, you need to stop LAN tracing. I did that with LANCP SET ACP/STOP and then restarting it with @SYS$STARTUP:LAN$STARTUP
