True but, modulo issues with open files and so on, which might or might
not be a problem, one can break a shadow set to get a quick backup which
one doesn't have to restore---just mount the backup disk (and
immediately build another shadow set, unless you have more than three
members so can remove at least two and keep at least two live). If open
files are a problem, then they are a problem for other means of backup
as well. If one can stop the application, then a
shadow-set-disk-as-backup is quick and easy. These days, disks are
cheap.
