Oh, a can of worms has been opened ...

I guess my question is, if SAP consultants are pulling in $250-$200 /
hr, and that was 20 years ago, who knows what they get today, then why
am I worth so much less?

Very real problem, some VMS customers think they are still back in 1980.
Yet those same people will drink the SAP kool-aid, and not blink an
eye at the astronomical rate.

So, the company can pay Oracle Rdb support rates, but nothing much for
new employees?

This is a good idea, except, for the habits of some to be considering
other offers 2 weeks after being hired. Something to be said for
contracts that demand certain performance after costly training.
