You're thinking physical drives.  V9.1 is virtual only at the moment.  Most Hypervisors provide virtual SCSI and SATA interfaces.  The Enterprise versions of ESXi might have virtual SAS interfaces but I don't have access to them to know.  VMware Fusion (Mac) and Oracle Virtualbox don't.  Why it doesn't support virtual SCSI, I don't know.  You would think that would already be just about built in given all the years of SCSI support in OpenVMS.  Maybe we are just being to literal.  I would imagine the SAS interface will come when some future version 9.1-x supports physical hardware.
