If you do a cluster, do it right. What advantage does master/slave give
you? Note that a third node (at a third location) can be a really small
box doing essentially nothing.
If there is no shared storage (hence you hint at there can be no quorum
disk), use HBVS with (at least) one member at each location. With a
third (quorum) node and HBVS, your cluster will continue to work if one
node is lost. With master/slave, it won't, so what's the point?
