My guess is that if you attempted to upload the wrong firmware, it would fail the
header checksum validation, so it's not as if you could brick the iLO itself with
the wrong firmware.

However, it's just a guess.

When not paying enough attention to what I was doing, I have attempted to update an iLO3 with
iLO4 firmware, and that does fail the header validation.
