Well,  from the beginning it was one year license with, I suspect with proper
hobby use, that it could be renewed.  On the other hand, it has been 20 years
or so, by now.  If they ended it after a year or two, the argument would
have made more sense.  They might have given a warning that it was
the last year.

The hobbies license renewal was the same as the original price.
Even so, some restaurants have a discount if you reuse packaging.
(Not Pizza Hut, as far as I know.)
