Jeff,

start with creating a system dump instead of just rebooting the system:

V8.2-1 or higher:

- type CTRL-P
- you will get the following output:

Interrupt Priority C

Commands:
C device Cancel Mount Verification
Q Adjust Quorum
CTRL-P Prompt for Crash
CTRL-Z Exit IPC

IPC>

- typing CTRL-P again will bring up the Crash (y/n): prompt from which you can force a crash by typing 'y'

The system will automatically reboot after writing the crashdump and then you will have lots of time to analyze this problem on the dump.

There is the also Ian Miller's PWAIT$SDA tool on https://eisner.decuserve.org/~miller/ It automatically analyzes process hangs and may find the problem.
