Still waiting for the network people to see if they can fix the problem.

In the meantime does anyone know how to force a connection to end when 
it is the FIN_WAIT_2 state?

On Linux there is a timer call tcp_fin_timeout that sounds like it would 
control how long these connections stay around but I can't find where 
this is on HP I64VMS TCPIP V5.7-13ECO2.
