BCPL was my second language after Fortran. Martin Richards was one of my
lecturers at University.
Some of my first commercial work was writing a backplane wirewrap editor
in BCPL on a PDP11.
We used BCPL on VAX, and VESTed results to run on Alpha. I think I got a
portable BCPL compiler to run on Alpha - it was helpful having Martin just
down the road (in Cambridge UK).
