[Info-vax] Correct way to dismount shadowed volume set as late as possible?

Not that Phillip will ever be convinced by anyone else, but, it's a slow
day, so why not?

Just measured a VT-520 display. Diagonal size is 12 inches. I'll let
you metric types do your own conversion. That is about 10 inches wide
by 7.5 inches in height. I think that comes out to 75 sq inches of area.
The 19 inch diagonal flat screen LED monitor I'm using is 15 x 12, or
180 sq inches area. Do you think that 2.25 to 1 ratio might allow
better visibility and usefulness? I think so.
The display is amber on black. Not too many options. The 19 inch
monitor has many color options. Myself, I use black foreground on white
background. You can use whatever you like, even amber on black.
A VT-420 or VT-520 terminal allows multiple "windows", called sessions.
The terminal emulator can have multiple sessions also, and usually more
than any VT terminal. Isn't "more" better?
However, pulling up a calculator over the current VT terminal "window"
is a bit more work than what WEENDOZE provides with no extra work. That
can be helpful.
A VT terminal does allow cut-n-paste, but it's a bit more work (and
memory of how to do) then what I can do with my terminal emulator on
WEENDOZE.
Of course, if I run EDT in a terminal emulator window I can still do
just about everything I can do on a VT terminal.

I got no problems with that ....

And the possibilities are endless ....

I'm not a big fan of "cut-n-paste" when working on VMS programs. EDT
does allow multiple buffers, and cut and paste between buffers doesn't
possibly "mess" with your text, formatting, and such.
And now for a big difference. As far as I know, a VT terminal will not
show 2 sessions on the display at the same time. Note, I may be wrong
with this claim, don't think so. On the WEENDOZE "user interface
appliance" I can have 2 windows, side by side, and compare two files.
That is a big winner for me.
