Ever heard "be careful what you ask for, you might get it" ??
Users are always ready for something new. But sometimes, not always,
they are not happy when the "something new" occurs.
It's been proven, over and over again, that a simple, memorized,
solution is usually easier and faster than something that requires
constant decisions. Having to reach for a mouse is usually the worst
thing in such situations.
While the simpler UI may require some initial learning, and there are
people who cannot be bothered to learn, it can be very productive once
learned.
