I should have been more specific. I was thinking more the size of a C-5 or
An-225, or even a mere 747.

The Swedish Air Force, under its Bas 60 and later Bas 90 basing plans of
the Cold War era, planned for the use of sections public roads near its
airbases as backup runways and had aircraft like the excellent Saab 37
Viggen fighter that were capable of used them.
