The typical web forum:
* is free
* does not require FB or similar integration
* does not share data

There must be dozens of such products typical based on PHP and MySQL.
Independent web applications or WordPress plugins. Some of them are
widely used.

VSI chose phpBB so someone at VSI may have confidence in that
