Oh yes it is. It's about updating a chunk with arbitrary beginning and
ending bytes anywhere in the data stream at run time. A record has
pre-determined beginning and ending bytes.  Using a record-oriented
system for shared updates to arbitrary pieces of a data stream just
isn't going to go well, as has been exhaustively explained already.
Please give it up.
