I believe bug tracking systems are way older than containers,
cloud, CI/CD and devops.
They are necessary.

Hmmm.
I have used many of such.
And the basics seems pretty identical. Someone create a
bug report by filling out a form, someone assign it to
a developer, the developer fixes the bug and mark it as
fixed, QA verifies that it is fixed.
Then there are the bells and whistles:
- search capability
- automatic generation of release notes
- email notification
- VCS integration
- LDAP authentication
- etc.
But honestly they do not matter much to me.
