Different approach? Proliant hp smart array controllers can
take a set of disks and present several logical drives, usually
mirror or raid 5 n, but down to single drive level, which might
be a solution.
Afaik, no ability to provide the unix style multiple hardware
partitions across s single drive. VMSmay have logical
drive subsetting capability via a single drive. RT11 V 5
certainly had and a driver to handle it...
