We always have a Jerrycan of petrol, for the mower and the
little Honda generator we've had for years. Not often needed
here, but has seen use. Give it a service and oil change every
year. If we lived out of the city, maybe invest in a 5 or 10
Kva diesel generator, perhaps even with auto electric start
on power failures longer than a ups can keep things running.
Maybe build a solar panel system this year. That would help
reduce electricity charges, which will be astronomical by
the end of this year, yet few seems worried about it. Heads
in the sand everywhere and little preparedness...
