I don't think much will is required.
Northatlantic Treaty article 5 says:
The Parties agree that an armed attack against one or more of them in
Europe or North America shall be considered an attack against them all ...
If a russian attack happens then NATO military command
will assume command, pull out the prepared plans from the
drawer and order the troops moving.
