But is more clumsy in some ways than VAX/VMS which has plenty of issues
but not a lot of back-compatibility ones.

I'd suggest buying a share or two of HP and then writing their investor
relations office asking about it.  I've certainly had far more service
in the Compaq era doing this than with any other strategy.
