[Info-vax] zx6000 rz2600 differences

Hi.

I have a zx6000 which I've owned from new (10gb).   I just bought an rx2600 motherboard off eBay as a backup in case the original dies.

I'd always thought that they were identical except for the enclosures but clearly this was wrong as I now see the rx2600 requires memory to be installed in quads "to enable chip spare functionality, available only on rx2600 servers" and the zx6000 in pairs.

bmc info reports:
zx6000: "BMC Firmware Revision = 01.52"
rx2600: "BMC Firmware Revision = 01.53 hp server rx2600". 

Right now I have the rx2600 mainboard installed in the zx6000 chassis and the bmc is reporting fan issues

Fan 1R (Power) Perf lags E8
Fan 1L (Power) Perf lags E9
Fan 2F (Memory) Perf lags EC
Fan 2B (Memory) Perf lags ED
Fan 2F (Memory) OK EC

And on the front panel LEDs I have blinking orange system,  red 4 green 1 which according to the latest manual means "Fan 1A not functioning properly". 

I don't get these errors if I reinstall the original zx6000 motherboard so  I'm guessing different/faster? fans were installed on the rx2600?

Is it possible to make this rx2600 mainboard into a zx6000 one?    

I see on this old post (https://groups.google.com/g/comp.os.vms/c/vWss2hclp4o/m/wvmY5yQlOwAJ) that there was at one time zx2000/zx6000 firmware (2.31/1.52) and rx2600 (2.31/1.53).      

I have nothing to dispute the above but I can only find the rx2600 on the current HPE site.  Does anyone have a link to the zx6000 firmware image?   Also can the zx6000 be flashed onto the rx2600 board or are there physical differences?

I'd like to at least get rid of the warning LEDs on the front panel.
