Yes, today, and that's what I'd be looking at today. But we're talking about
something from 48 years ago, which still does the job today. Lots of better
options today. Might even be more tomorrow. But it's not broke, so why fix it?
Actually, not only is it not broke, it has utilities for ease of use. For a
"more modern" (I hated typing that) implementation perhaps the utilities for
ease of use might still be required to be developed.
