More seriously, you are correct however. The days of assembly language
in application programs (and even the vast majority of systems code)
is well and truly over apart from some specialist and very localised uses.

IIRC, David is using a database written in-house in Macro-32 so that's
probably a rewrite of a good chunk of the application code if they do that.
What relational database would you suggest David consider switching to ?
One thing David didn't mention directly (and it is a valid thing for
auditors to pick up on) is if the issue of what happens if VSI goes
bust was discussed.
