Wirth, Dijkstra etc. did not like Basic.

But yes - Basic is also an easy language to learn.

I find Pascal easier than Basic, but that may really just
reflect that Pascal is more similar to the other languages
I know. For someone not knowing any programming language,
then VMS Basic me at least as easy as VMS Pascal.
