The recent OpenSSL 3.0.2 release does not address the issue, in fact
it's gone backwards. Freshly built and executed.

$ mcr []sesola3.EXE
OpenSSL 1.1.1k 25 Mar 2021
value: 1
ELAPSED: 0 00:00:00.19 CPU: 0:00:00.19 BUFIO: 4 DIRIO: 7 FAULTS: 159

$ mcr []sesola3.EXE
OpenSSL 3.0.1 14 Dec 2021
value: 1
ELAPSED: 0 00:00:06.50 CPU: 0:00:06.39 BUFIO: 4 DIRIO: 7 FAULTS: 142

$ mcr []sesola3.EXE
OpenSSL 3.0.2 15 Mar 2022
value: 1
ELAPSED: 0 00:00:08.33 CPU: 0:00:08.29 BUFIO: 4 DIRIO: 7 FAULTS: 155
