DEC build computers to last decades.
Lots of VAX'es and Alpha's still running shows that.
But the sad fact is that it does not make financial sense today
to build computers like that. Computers are technological obsolete
after 3-5-8 years and they get replaced, so not really any point
in making them to last 20 years.
