Yes.  If you form a VMSCluster with more than one X86 system in the cluster the max cores can be 6 for all x86 members.  You can still have non-VMSCluster member x86 systems with up to 6 cores each.  I assume it probably also means threads if the CPU Hyperthreads - so perhaps 3 CPU cores/6 Threads?  Not sure about that.
