The LinuxONE free accounts are definitely time limited. They get deleted after 120 days and then you can just request a new one. The Z Xplore accounts seem to last forever, or at least mine hasn't been deleted after well over a year. There's a page you can go to reset the password. It's also the same account across all the challenges (except for the LinuxONE ones).

The other IBM z/OS badge programs are different, and I think those accounts (the ones accessed through a temporary provisioned Windows cloud desktop) do get reset/deleted fairly quickly.
