The Mac has an ATTO HBA.  All of its storage is located on the SAN. 
What it lacks is a tape driver or any software to write to tape.  Such 
packages are available but I haven't found one I can afford as of yet. 
The closest I could come was BRU but BRU doesn't work unless all of the 
drives in your tape library can read the same tapes and mine can't (LTO4 
and LTO7 drives).

I have 10G ports but no 25G (or 40 or 100) so I haven't looked at faster 
NICs.
