According to a couple of search hits, the Apple II used CR line ending 
before the Mac did.

You could save space on those 360K 5¼ floppy disks by eliminating the LF 
on every line in a text file. ;-)

Here's one reference:

That would be somewhere after 1980 (Apple /// SOS).
