Some browsers can work around certain html errors, but it is hard for the author of a web page to know all the browsers that might be used by those who want to read their page, so those who post a web page should validate it using http://validator.w3.org. -- Larry Kilgallen From Glennwriter at comcast.net Fri Aug 3 12:47:46 2007 From: Glennwriter at comcast.net (Glennwriter at comcast.net) Date: Fri, 03 Aug 2007 16:47:46 +0000 Subject: [Squaredancing] National Square Dance Directory Message-ID: <080320071647.20311.46B35C3200027EB200004F5722165258069D0A9B079D9902020A04B9@comcast.net> Larry, Thanks. I've created a Meetup group named "The Northern NJ Square Dancing Meetup Group". I am going to try to use the group to announce both dances and lessons. Hopefully, I can get it to grow to a large enough group. I also found two Square Dancing related groups on Facebook.com. One is for young people who like to dance and the other seems to be for everyone, but most members seem to be young (high school and college age) I think that Square Dancing will benefit if start using these social networking sites to generate interest in our activity. And since most of the people who use these sites are young, this gives us an almost perfect way to get them into the activity. Let me know how it works out. I also started a website aimed at providing information for people interested in dancing. It's far from complete, but what I have so far has been used by a couple groups that were having beginner dances. You can check it out at http://fun.greatdances.net/. I put ads for their dances on many internet based community event listing sites and included the website for more information. Right now it specifically mentions a "Blast" class that was in June, but I will change it after Labor Day to be more generic, or to list whatever is coming soon.
