RSX-11M-Plus made it easy to use separate I/D space. It was just a
switch on your compile command line and a switch in the task builder.
(If you were programming in Macro-11, you used separate I- and D-space
PSECTs instead of a switch on the MAC command line.)
Now if you were programming without the benefit of an operating
system, you would find that using separate I/D spaces was no more
difficult than using the rest of the memory management hardware.
