If I were looking for one of the AGP cards with a fan, then
I'd probably be more eager to find a pristine unit, but for a
no-moving-parts PCI card, I wouldn't care much. Of course,
that new-in-box unit was more attractive for that reason, not
that I've ever had a failure on a used Radeon card. Looking
back through my Ebay archives, I seem to have paid an average
price (shipped) of about $24. (Range: $35 --> $13, declining
monotonically over time.)

I'd look for a 64MB card which looks like this one, for
example:

That's what all mine look like. "MADE IN CHINA", so you know
that it must be good. If you're not actually worried about
service or a warranty, then I suspect that one can make a few
$25 errors before paying as much as one would for a retail
card from a reliable vendor. But hey. It's your money.
