What kind of "belt"?  The drawer extension mechanism on CDs/DVDs usually 
includes a small drive belt of about 1 to 1.5 inches diameter.  These 
break all the time and sometimes fall out the front of the drive when 
they snap.  The drives are not very picky about replacement belts, an O 
ring of about the same size will usually fix it.  Sometimes even a 
rubber band will work, at least for a temporary repair.
