In a limited-view shareholder model, maybe yes. In a broader-view 
stakeholder model, certainly not! There it's *optimizing profit* that 
counts.

It is much /easier/ to maximize profit at the expense (no pun!) of, for 
example, the employees, or the environment. /Easier/ is not /better/.
