Wasn't it DEC who invented alpha?
They should have had the strongest interest in it.

Compaq was even less a chipmaker then DEC.

Which is hypothetical because neither DEC nor Compaq
would have had that funding. Itanic would be long dead
as well, if it weren't for the deep pockets
(and inflated ego's) of intel and HP.
