not what you needed, but DFU might be used to
narrow the list somewhat.  

$ mcr dfu
     Disk and File Utilities for OpenVMS V3.2
DFU> help search /type
DFU
  SEARCH
    /TYPE
       /TYPE=ODS2 | ODS5
       Searches for files with ODS2 or ODS5 file headers.
       Only usefull on ODS5 disks.
