There is no make on VMS and gnu make is not make and the POSIX make
definition is not completel enough to allow to use it for portable
applications.
imake is dead and just another program to create "self mofifying code"
The Schily Makefilesystem I started to implement in 1992 is something that is
really portable in case you use a portable make program.
