Out of curiosity, how do software binaries run on different flavours of
Linux ?
Do the various Linux distributions still have the exact same libraries
and entry points so that pre-linked applications would work on any Linux
flavour ? Or do software developpers have to compile distinct binaries
for each linux distribution ?
I also support the porting to OS-X. While I wouldn't be able to justify
paying for it, it would allow me to archive my Alpha-VMS system in a way
that I could still boot it from time to time.
