   As usual, a _useful_ problem report would include data like
the program version, its origin, and how it was used.  The
notes in my latest kit, for example, say:

[...]
      [.mkisofs]tree.c
[...]
   Changed some code to skip "." and ".." directory entries
silently (but effectively).
[...]

   This may be a different problem, but perhaps your problem
has been fixed already (somewhere).  It's hard to be sure with
the info available.  I've been using my edition(s) of mkisofs
for years, and I haven't had any trouble with it/them exiting
for a lack of "." and/or "..".
