I mean that my existing VMS builder scheme works reasonably
well, although I'll admit that it does need some manual work
when the UNIX "configure" tests are extended. It also uses
tools (MMS or MMK) which actual VMS users are likely to have
already. Perhaps many VMS users will be eager to install
"star" and "smake", and the whole GNV kit, and I don't know
what else, just so they can build cdrtools. But I doubt it.
Or, perhaps everyone will be satisfied with binary kits
created by someone who has all the infrastructure which will
be needed for the new "portable" scheme.. Many things are
possible.
