I'm not interested very much in cars, so my knowledge of details is
rather limited.

There were articles in the (local) newspaper(s) reporting that Microsoft
would be trying hard to push Windows towards "embedded", "real-time" and
"critical" applications. I don't think Windows is optimal for that job.
