If you do not have a TCPIP stack on your VMS system, then Decpint will
only be able to use LAT to send data to a printer, and this means that
your printer will hae to support LAT.

If your printer does not support LAT, then you will need to have soe
TCPIP stack on your VMS box to be able to talk to the printer.

Digital branded printers did support LAT. But I am not sure that non DEC
printers do.
