If I believed this I wouldn't hang out in the newsgroup. Oracle has a
product (RDB) which depends upon OpenVMS so they would probably be
interested in buying it if the price was right. (now read my next
comment)

If this were true then it's a very strange business model. Just like
the snake who places it's own health in jeopardy when it ingests a
really large meal, HP acquired EDS just as the economy was going
south. In this troubled environment it would make more sense to sell
off certain business groups than ride them into the ground. (the snake
coughs up some of the meal and gets some cash for doing so)
