Systems and storage sales and support is the majority of SUN's
business. Either Oracle keeps that business and make it prosper
or they have more or less wasted 7.4 billion dollars.
So the bean counters within Oracle will want to continue.
Most of Oracles software runs on enterprise grade hardware.
So the techies within Oracle will want to continue, because
they know the difference between enterprise grade hardware
and 500 dollar PC's in Walmart.
Some things may change. Oracle may change the organization and
how they do business (they need to do something to make it
more profitable!). And some technology changes may also happen (I
would not be surprised if SPARC slowly got replaced by x86-64's).
But SUN would also have made some changes if they have not been
acquired.
