When you consider the number of embedded systems that are based on XP, I
doubt very much that Microsoft ends support/updates for XP.

Large food chains that have their cash registers on XP aren't going to
upgrade just to please Microsoft and they will get support for their
gear. Same with Bank ATMs and a whole gazillion devices (such as those
photo printing booths etc).
